Beyond the price tag
In your market, there are many considerations behind the total cost of a product, and the price tag rarely tells the whole story. Behind every decision sits a range of flow-on effects - cost savings from recycling, reduced risk, and easier ongoing maintenance. Every customer and site is different, and no sales rep wants to open Excel in front of a customer.
Whether the person across the table is a hospital value analysis committee, a department head, or a procurement lead, a cost-benefit calculator breaks the savings down in a clear, visual, easy-to-read manner.
The numbers that tell the story
Whether your case rests on cost per procedure, infections, readmissions or effectiveness, Enso helps you build a cohesive, credible story. Our calculators have priced theatre minutes saved at closure, surgical site infections avoided, and the risk of medication errors and bacteraemia. When the argument isn't about cost at all, we've modelled effectiveness as efficacy × real-world use. Whatever the numbers, we'll help you carry them into the conversation.
From spreadsheet to sale
Working with your sales and marketing teams and subject matter experts, Enso converts your existing Excel spreadsheets, lookup tables, and reference guides into interactive cost-benefit calculators that your sales team can use on the iPad in meetings, show on calls, or demo at trade conferences.
Backed by the evidence
Your HEOR model is adapted to use the customer's own numbers, with sensible defaults drawn from verified research and established studies, each easily adjusted to the reality on the ground.
When questions arise about methodology, sourcing, or the workings behind the calculations, the evidence your rep needs is just a tap away, and when the conversation is over, a personalised PDF report is ready to send.
From the clinical story to the costs
Paired with an interactive product detail, your sales reps can move from the clinical story to costs without leaving the app. And we know that not every useful calculator is about cost - sometimes it's about shifting the conversation towards overall effectiveness, or presenting the long-term benefits.
With over twenty years of experience in developing and digitising health economics calculators, digital detail aids, and interactive sales engagement tools, Enso is uniquely qualified to help you tell your story.

What is a budget impact model?
A budget impact model estimates how your product, device, or service changes the spending for the payer - the hospital, health service, or insurer - over a short horizon (often 1 to 5 years) and answers one of their key questions: "Can I afford this?" It usually compares care directly before and after the introduction of your product or service - looking at the counts of eligible patients, the costs of the product and treatment, analysis of expected uptake, and any offsetting savings from the switch. In a digital sales aid, the budget impact model can be incorporated into an interactive calculator, allowing the sales rep and customer to have an informed conversation around costs - easily entering the customer's own numbers and seeing the projected effect on their budget.
What is a cost-effectiveness model?
A cost-effectiveness model compares the costs and health outcomes of two or more treatments, often over a longer horizon such as a patient's lifetime. Where a budget impact model asks "Can I afford this?", a cost-effectiveness model asks whether the product is good value for the health benefit it delivers.
Can the hospital enter its own costs and case mix?
Yes - most calculators work from a well-defined baseline state of default values, with a customisable layer that sits on top. As your sales team sits with the customer, they can easily update the values with the important data they know - how many patients, how much products cost, what percentage of the time an event occurs in their hospital. These custom figures are incorporated into the calculations and documented in any workings and exported reports.
Where do the numbers in a health economics calculator come from?
We work with your team's existing models, spreadsheets, lookup tables, and established papers. Each calculation and input is referenced and sourced inside the tool.
Does every calculator focus on cost and price?
No - working closely with our clients, Enso has developed a wide range of calculators and sales tools that explore much more than just cost. When conversations kept focusing exclusively on a therapy's efficacy, our calculators helped turn them into discussions that consider both core outcomes and overall effectiveness.
We have explored models where the risk drives the cost, not the unit price; the budget impact of changing where care happens - from the ward to hospital in the home, and from in-centre to in-home dialysis; and we have showcased scenarios where the savings from consumables and recycling initiatives extend far beyond the simple line item on the budget.
Does the calculator work offline in a sales aid?
Yes - your sales reps are often in the field, far from mobile connectivity or usable wifi - whether in a hospital meeting room or an operating theatre. Deployed to an iPad, the calculator can run entirely locally, so the full conversation can occur wherever your rep is. Any leave-behind reports, brochures, or sales aids are ready to send as soon as the iPad is back online.
What else does Enso build?
Enso's expertise in digital tools extends beyond health economics calculators and budget impact models. We design and develop dosing and prescription management tools, drug reference libraries, product comparisons and configuration tools, digital catalogues, and a wide range of interactive sales engagement tools.
